Call a plumber you may have a leak in the wall somewhere that cant be seenWhy does my faucet in my bath tub run?
Usually only 3 reasons

1.water pressure too high

2.wrong seal inside water storage area.

3.Inside the water storage area is a metal or plastic ball you need to bend the arm of the ball downward carefully this adds pressure to stop the flow of water I would say this is the most likely of the 3 things if it was old i would check the seal for cleanliness but you say its new so bend the arm down carefully it may not look like a ball to you but longish with rounded or flat ends. it is actually a float as the water rises the float has to rise shuting of the water running you bend it a little at a time until the water stops flowing .
sometimes a faucet still leaks because the faucet seat is worn, cracked or a little chip is out of it. the faucet seat is what the rubber washer (at the end of the stem) presses on to get a firm fit. If you have put on a new faucet, I assume you have a new stem and washer. So the problem is probably with the seat, letting water still get by the seal. The seats are sometimes replacable. Look up ';faucet seat'; on Yahoo or Google and you'll see what it looks like.

If you take off the new faucet and can reach in and touch the seat with your finger, you can feel around it's perimeter and sometimes tell if there is a crack or chip out of it.

If the tub is an older model, then the seats may indeed be worn down or chipped. the seats become chipped because over the years the metal just cracks under the constant pressure of the faucet being turned off, usually tighter and tighter as the washers get old and hard, etc.

hope this helps

If the seat can be replaced, it is an easy job to do.
If you tried replacement parts and then installed a new fixture and it still leaks you may have had some sediment from the removal of the old fixture which can cause a small leak in a washer/washerless fixture. it only takes a small piece of sediment to prevent the total shut-off of water. Washerless faucets are vunerable to this and can scratch the inside surface ';just barely'; and cause it to leak..even though it's new.
The knobs could be stripped or you may need to replace the washers.

Your best bet is to call a plumber.
