David P gave you a great answer if you are talking about the valves, (the part you twist to turn the water on and off.) If you are talking about the faucet, (the part the water comes out, also called a spigot) then your turn it clockwise until it tightens up. Place a rag over the faucet and GENTLY turn with a wrench if you cannot hand tighten it. Use care, most faucets are made of thin pot metal or plastic and crack easily. How do you tighten the faucet thing on a bath tub?

Generally, there is a plug in the center of the knob... Remove that plug, this will expose the top of the valve where the screw is. Tighten up the screw, you should be good to go. Sometimes the knobs ';strip out'; take to the hardware store match up a new one and reattach. Hope this helps. dp
