Hey ya'll.
Yes, I'm living on my own now(in a trailer). LoL. I want to change out the faucet in my bath-tub, but I have no idea how to go about getting the old one out. It's the kind with the spout in the middle and a knob on each side of it. Thanks For Any Help! How do I change a bath-tub faucet?
the others have most of it
However
many trailers have different sizes of valves (center to center measurements)
just make sure you get a new valve that is the same sizeHow do I change a bath-tub faucet?
Remove the plastic center caps on your handles and unscrew the the screw you find under it. Reverse order of operation to put new ones on. The faucets should screw on/off and it is a good idea to use teflon tape on the threads before installing new ones. If that is all you are doing, you shouldn't even need to shut your water off but you may want to just in case. Depends on how long the faucets have been in place.
Turn off water supply to home. You need to be able to get to back of tub behind faucet. If faucet is on outside wall it will be very difficult to replace. If you can get behind faucet there are unions that come apart on both the cold and hot water pipes. These will come apart with wrenches. The pipes to shower head and tub spout will need to be removed or cut.Find same faucet at home improvement store.Should go back in like old one came out.Can be easy for a pro.Good Luck!!!
Before you change it out, are you doing this because of a leak or for show?
If it is because of a leak, you may want to think about changing seals and seats. That would be less trouble.
Get a diagram of the particular valve(s) and loosen the retaining nuts on the seals and change them out and replace the hardware. Some seals and seats are pennies on the dollar!

Don't forget Step 1.
STEP 1: Put a rag in the drain so small parts like screws won't go down it.
